Writing On The Wall

They say we've got justice down at that Court House,
If you do the crime you'll do the time.
Guess it's not true for everybody,
Some of the bad guys are doing fine.

Must be a big back door to that old jailhouse,
Soon the villain's back out on the street.
Slapping his wrist won't ever change him.
And, sometimes the victim feels the heat.

Chorus
I'm proud to be a part of this great country,
God knows I would die to prevent her fall.
Pillars of her strength are growing weaker,
I can see the writing on the wall.

They still wave old glory down in that School Yard,
But, who ever thought the day would come,
We'd cease to pledge to her allegiance,
And, trade all our Bibles for some guns.

In some local churches on Sunday Morning,
Preachers of the Word are seldom seen.
While some liberal seminary scholar,
Quotes from the News Week Magazine.
